About Us

OUR BAND BOOSTER ORGANIZATION
MISSION STATEMENT:
To provide all participants in the Golden Hawks Band Program with support, encouragement, and opportunities necessary for them to aspire to their highest level of musical achievement.

OUR VISION
The Golden Hawks band program shall provide all students with a comprehensive and rewarding experience of quality and excellence in musical performance.


MEMBERSHIP: Membership (voting privilege) is open to parents of band and color guard students. Decisions are made by majority vote of the members present at monthly meetings.

FUNDRAISING SUPPORT: There are a number of fundraising activities conducted during each year such as: Domino’s Pizza cards, Cookie Dough Sales, Discount Card sales, Car Washes, and other fundraising activities. The goal of these activities is to generate funding to support the annually established band budget.


LOGISTICAL SUPPORT: The fundraising, marching, concert, and color guard competitions and all other activities require the time and dedication of band parents in order for the activity to be successful. Parents are needed to serve on committees, work at fundraisers, assemble and disassemble and move equipment, serves as chaperones, make phone calls, and provide skills such as accounting, sewing, cooking and computer work.


MORAL SUPPORT: The Band Director is the ultimate authority for all aspects of the band. However, the attitude, behavior, and skill levels displayed by the band are a direct reflection of the guidance and leadership provided by the band parents. If each parent projects an interest in the program, a positive attitude, demands good behavior, and requires that their student practices, then the band will be a team success.


BAND PARENT INFORMATION SOURCES: The following are some of the suggested sources of information available to all band parents.

  1. Band Booster Meetings: held every first Thursday of each month, at 7:00PM in the band room. During Spring Training (April & May), the meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of the month (subject to change due to events and holidays).
